Friday Linkage

Autoextremist has very authoritative(-sounding, at least,)analysis and opinion on the automotive industry. They also do research like surveys on what people in the car business actually think(as opposed to what marketing tells us) about hyrbids and alternative fuels. This week's editorial is a general round-up of the current state of play of the carmakers.

I don't believe it's there anymore, but I do remember seeing--and Dad once driving partway up it to try to scare us kids--a large ramp in Morrisburg that was part of an attempt to jump over the St. Lawrence river. UPDATE: A couple cousins of mine actually saw this, one took a piece that flew off the car home.

This is likey to be today's most passed-around video: a small jet overshoots it's runway, winds up in the water, everyone is rescued okay, then at about the 4:15 mark...I won't spoil it.
